I was just reminded the other night how much I loved reading Jonathan Swift's "A Modest Proposal." Satire people. It's awesome!

Not to mention I grew up in love with the movie "Anne of Green Gables." (Yes I was an interesting child. Come on, my first word was "hot.") So due to this, if memory serves me right, my favorite ballad was always, "The Lady of Shalott" by Alfred, Lord Tennyson. http://charon.sfsu.edu/TENNYSON/TENNLADY.html
Funny how so much can be said in such short eloquent phrases or hidden in satire. Just wanted to share my nostalgia.
